Phoenix Neighborhood Advocate Donna Neill Passes Away

shapeimage_2Dear Neighborhood Advocate,

Today, Phoenix lost one of our greatest and most passionate neighborhood advocates. Donna Neill will be sorely missed by all who had the honor of knowing and working with her. For the past 20 years, Donna selflessly dedicated herself to fighting blight and crime and solving neighborhood problems in the Westwood community and throughout our entire city. If Donna saw a problem, she offered a solution, and she worked to get it done. When she saw that her neighborhood lacked a park, she worked with the city and business community to create Kid Street Park. From her signature anti-crime marches, to her Neighborhood Day at the Legislature, and her efforts to lobby for neighborhood victim rights, Donna was the heart of neighborhoods and always at the center of action.

Donna left her mark on our city. She was passionate, dedicated, spirited, and a doer. It’s hard to believe that she is gone, but her legend will certainly live on. My thoughts and prayers are with her loving husband Jerry, the entire family, and our close knit community of neighborhood leaders who knew and loved her.

Donna’s family has set up a memorial fund to help with funeral expenses. Please make a donation to the fund today and share this information with your friends and family. Donations can be made here.
